Do you have to sign into Google talk on Android to download apps from market?

Because many people say you have to be online on Google talk on the android to download. I can't sign in, thats why. Anyone with android phone. PLEASE help me. If possible, can u try downloading a free app when u r not signed in on GTalk?|||Actually I dont have that phone, but I am just curious that you put this question in Single and Dating catalog.
